A Lip Treatment to Enhance
I have never been concerned about the shape of my lips but I have always applied lip stain to give them more colour.
As a cosmetic tattoo artist I already offer lip blush services but I began contemplating how I could create a lip treatment that provided a subtle hint of colour, similar to my lip stain, without the long-lasting, defined colour that we get from a traditional lip blush procedure.
What I came up with was a lip treatment that provides three benefits in a single treatment.

Creating The Perfect Lip Treatment
My aim was to create a lip treatment that gave me a subtle lip colour, similar to a lip stain, that didn't define the lips or last too long. I knew that I wanted to use pigments that did not contain titanium dioxide, which is typically essential for lip blush pigments to make them opaque and give coverage, knowing this might result in a less intense effect that may not last long. The selection of lip pigments I selected to use for this treatment were chosen for their translucent nature, offering a delicate, sheer hint of colour rather than a bold, opaque look.
As an aesthetician for many years, I also understood the benefits of microneedling on the lips to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in the skin cells, resulting in rejuvenated and plumped lips. Tattooing needles are not a lot different from microneedling, just smaller, so the use of the larger microneedling needles in my treatment would offer a less saturated application of colour with the benefits of microneedling. As a result, I was able to achieve fuller lips without bruising or downtime, along with a hint of colour.
As an additional benefit and to ensure the pigment was subtle, I chose to mix it with a serum I had previously used in microneedling to enhance the benefits. This hydrating serum by Dermatude is rich in hyaluronic acid and other moisturizing ingredients, so it retains moisture like a sponge, which makes the skin appear thicker and fuller, making the long term outcome of microneedling even better.
The Final Treatment
Putting all this together I had created a treatment that would leave the lips hydrated & plumped with a hint of colour that will last approximately 3 - 6 months. (Varies on each individual)
The final procedure includes a lip exfoliation before the application of lip pigment and hyaluronic acid serum, gently infused into the lips with microneedling. This treatment not only adds a subtle semi-permanent tint to your lips but also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin in the skin cells. As a result, you achieve fuller and hydrated lips without bruising or downtime, along with a hint of colour.
